Trac Vision not finding satalite

I have the R5 and had that problem happen to me this year in Charlotte when stopped for nascar races. Tom Johnson camping knew exactly what it was and said it frequent problem. The system had lost its ground. They installed a grounding box and I had no problems since.

Is this the same receiver you have used successfully in the past?

X2 I have king dome/Dish Satt.

Maybe if it was looking for a satellite, it might have been successful.

I'm a Dish subscriber so not sure how relevant this might be but had basically the same problem a few years back but the receiver was the failure point for me. Having a roof mounted and a carry out makes troubleshooting a bit easier.

Umm, the antenna not finding the satellite is not related to the box needing to be authorized. Can't even authorize if the antenna is not locked in. Sounds like something technical with the antenna. Effy sounds like he has the right idea to try, if calling tech support for the particular antenna is not what you want to do - it is what I would be doing right now!

After suspending our DirecTV contract for the winter when we reactivate it in the Spring sometimes we have to call them to do something magic. Sometimes they want me to power down the Receiver for 30 seconds or so and plug it back in. It's the classic unplug it and plug it back in electronic fix. We've never had a problem with anything electronic or mechanical in more than 10 years with our dome unit.

Only suggestion I could offer would be to reset your box, then reauthorize it and try it again. I am assuming you've cleaned the dish and the dome.. sorry, but everything else is technical.....Dennis

There is a small sensor that can go bad. It's small black square with a wire. Similar to what you see for satellite radio.
