I wish there was something I could do but I am down in Florida and would have to take my chances driving right through the areas that Florence might hit. He has made it to Hawaii and is awaiting his 8+ hour flight out of there direct to Atlanta and then back to Maryland. Fortunately Olivia has dropped in intensity so he should have no problem getting out of Hawaii and will make it to Atlanta sometime tomorrow morning. After changing flights he is due to get in to Wash-Reagan at about 10:30 tomorrow morning. A 1 1/2 hour drive south and he should be able to get home in time to do something. Our 32 year old grandson and grandson-in-law both live and work at PAX river also so they are helping to take care of things until our son gets home. I'll wait down here with my three portable generators to see if anything is needed after the storm passes.
I appreciate the prayers but it looks like everything is working out fine. Growing up on the coast of Florida has given us all a respect for hurricanes and what we have to do as far as preparation. Like us, he has insurance on the 5th wheel so it is a minor concern. If things look bad when he gets home, he will saddle up and leave the area completely.
The people in the NC, SC, and VA areas look like they are going to get the brunt of Florence. I wish them all well.
