Unsafe At Any Speed With Pics

All I needed to see is that he installed a nice "pry-bar" for the extension on his hitch. There is a whole lot of undulating-in-road as you travel along highways. And, the vertical force created by the tongue weight is being multipled(up and down) by way of this "prybar", and it's only a matter of time before "the weakest link in the chain" FAILS. THEN, when I saw the precarious perch of the ATV in the rear, all I could think is that he's got himself a very strong guardian angel (in his mind).
All I can do is NOT drive behind trucks and trailers.

You are opening whole can of worms here as law differ from state to state.
In California any trailer above 1500lb has to have brakes and break-away system. Few years back I was shopping around for equipment hauler in Nebraska and was offered brand new 7000 lb trailer with no brakes.
Chains are another story. Even trailers with heavier chains, have U-hooks on the end, who will straight up on any drop (ask me how do I know).
Bottom line, you have the right to your concerns, but bashing somebody on the internet for something you are not allow to judge can bring some legal consequences and is brushing the ethics.
I think with real concern, you should point the set to an officer.

Bottom line to all of this is those that are telling you to bite your tongue may have spent more time in the virtual world, then on the road. How many car trailers have you seen that have a beaver tail built that lightly? How many trailers have you seen that carry this much weight don't have a break away system. :S

This person is putting someone's family at risk every time they hit a bump in the road. An attorney in a civil case would call it "reckless endangerment."

It is always easy to jump to conclusions without knowing the details.
The truth is that towing is always danger "sport".
No matter if it is 2 foot extension, or 1 foot drop. That always has some potential.
We don't know if the extension was reinforced, or just home made bar.
If you go to truck camper section, you will find 4 foot extensions pulling 2-horse trailers. When it is done right, it will work, but it will never be 100% safe.
I would bite my tongue before I learn details.

I am sure that is a solid titanium drawbar, the hitch is well reinforced and there is nothing really to be concerned about. :B

I wonder if he has a rear camera... hate for him to miss the show.

That IS an Oregon plate, and as an Oregon Tiffin Allegro owner I am quite embarrassed that one of my fellow Allegro owners would operate such a shoddy tow package.

"I might be over my max tow limit..." Really? I have never seen a Bounder with a 10,000 lb. hitch. In fact, the chassis itself I believe has less than 5000 lb GCWR capacity available. Hope your home grown over weight unit never fails and if it should that you have LOTS of liability insurance. That is, if your insurance company doesn't walk away because you are clearly over stated ratings. You want the Highway Patrol to investigate this other guy? Seriously?

Not only common sense, but here it is required by law. Plus the system must hold the brakes applied for 15 minutes!

I cant remember what the license plates said, I thought Oregon and we were in Laughlin Nevada, the pics do show a yellow plate, I did forget to mention I never saw a electric brake away system and the pics don't really do justice, it looked far worse with my eyes than the pics do, wiring to the half broke lights were frayed, straps on Jeep are not that big and looked rotted, some rust in areas on trailer, tires looked under inflated and old and the pics did not get the slight bend in the hitch under the RV, did not want the owner coming out and asking why I was taking pics but I just could not let this one get away without pics..

I sure hope he makes it back home without issues or maybe highway patrol will see this and make him disconnect the trailer till its fixed right..
