Well.... We got one!!! We are so excited - now we are B folks!Never even been in a B before. :BWe laid out boards and pillows at home to see if the size of the bed would work for us (him). Then I made a pillow that was just the depth of his head so there wouldn't be wasted space between his head and the wall. It looked like it would work. We had to wait and see...We drove over 1000 miles to see the one we liked (in Florida). We took test drives in the 170 and a 190 they had. Big difference in maneuverability, agility, nimbleness, and cuteness. Either one his hair was barely brushing the ceiling - not a problem!Here is our new-to-us 2004 Roadtrek 170 Popular (camping on the way home in a national forest):We love it! Thanks to all who responded to my earlier questions - I'm sure there will be many more! Wheee!

The first Roadtrek I drove at the dealer was a 170P and that has been over twenty years ago as I recall. Since then, we have owned a 190P and a 210P. I would love to have a 170! I think it would be absolutely perfect for the next type of traveling we envision and that is sometimes camping, sometimes hotels, B&Bs, etc. More touring than camping, which we do weeks at a time in our current rig. Having had a 190 and a 210, I think a 170 would be great to park, tour, and just see the country from a normal sized van. I have been looking for one and just missed a really nice one a few weeks ago. Paul

Hi Pasusan--Congrats! We have owned our 1997 170P since April of this year and absolutely love it! We drive it everyday and it is our primary transportation. We also just completed our week-long trek to Florida where we spend the winter. Our Roadtrek could not have been more comfortable or more economical (we got 16-18 mpg). Please feel free to PM me if you would like to ask questions or discuss. We spend our summers in the Poconos so maybe we could meet sometime in the future. Best wishes with your new baby!

When pulling our trailer I have to look at Google maps and plan a grocery store that has a big open area far from the store.Just a side note...On our trip to Florida and back we didn't see one B. Not one! Saw a bunch of B+s and more than the usual amount of Airstreams.

Just did some shopping today! At Bed, Bath & Beyond - for organizers for the (1) drawer, a paper towel holder, and one of those dish drying mats... We actually already have some of those awful chairs from years ago (we used to make the kids sit in them) - they make better ones now, I know... And it looks like our canoe won't fit (I measured). ;)

Just measured it - 73 1/2" - that's the forward area - it gets a little tighter in the back area and that's OK with me as I don't mind being the one to crawl over and he doesn't mind it either.

DH might have shrunk a little in the getting old(er) thing... But, I'm not gonna be the one to tell him. He fits head to toe - no bending of the knees. Lucky he doesn't mind a tight fit!

You will defiantly enjoy it! We have had our 1996D190P for over 3 years now & i have to say it's the best camper van we have ever owned. I have had about 6-8 class b's in the past.
