V-10 Radiator Reservoir

The coolant reservoir on my '02 Bounder has a crack.
A truck mechanic friend tells me it is not a MAJOR problem, as the radiator has plenty of coolant, just to keep an eye on it.
BUT...really need to resolve it.
It is the big round looking one.
Any ideas where one can be had, or, can I fiberglass it to seal the crack?
Thanks in advance!!
  • Yep, a V-10 Ford.
I'll check NAPA, had not seen the round one.
I did find one on eBay for $64 I think also.

That tank, btw, is pressurized. Had to replace mine from UV damage. They are not cheap....over 100 bucks.
I think the OP has a gasser, I know mine is not pressurized. You can buy a universal tank replacement at Auto Zone, Napa etc for under $20.
  • Got mine here. $85 Free shipping Factory part. At my door in 2-4 days.

    clicky

Takes about 15-20 minutes to put it on.

Was there a specific part number, or will Ford know what it is by the Fleetwood info?
Thanks, and I agree, worth the money to buy, rather than repair :/

When mine cracked I used Shoe Goo(like Goop} and reinforced it with several layers of gauze (open weave fabric). If you have FG laying around you can use that or any woven material. Just make sure the reservoir is not too brittle from the heat other wise it is better to replace it.
