V10 gas mileage

if you want great mpg buy a rv with a mercede,s benz diesel.it,ll go 70 mph all day long just like a V 10.

2016 Coachman Leprechaun, pulling a Dodge Durango as our toad. Loaded and ready to roll (full tank of gas, empty water and holding tanks) we scale the motorhome at 14,175, with two people and a hundred pound Labrador. With AC running, and average driving conditions of 62 mph on interstate, and 58 mpg on other posted highways, we averaged 8.2 over nearly 4,000 miles of travel.

Then we added the 5-Star Tuner, and over past 3,000 miles, same variables, we've averaged 9.2 mpg. Not a plug for them, merely our results.

Last trip was 600 miles, and we drove from Milwaukee to home (325 miles) in a 15-25 mph headwind/crosswind. Average dropped to 8.2, however, we also had generator running for part of the trip. Very satisfied with the mileage.

I don't have a heavy foot, and when possible and not being a bother/danger to others, I coast to stops using the tow/haul mode. Same when coming onto interstate. If melding in isn't an issue, I don't push it. If it is, half-open throttle (my estimate) handles the job nicely. Have NEVER had a need for WOT, or even close to it, at least so far. For oil, I use 5W-20 full synthetic, and burn 87 octane ethanol in the fuel tank. The tuner is set up for towing, using 87 octane fuel.

8.3 average over 30,000 miles with 29-foot, 13,000 pound C, full width and 11 1/2 feet tall. This includes mountain driving (less than 6 mpg climbing) and prairie tailwinds pushing it over 12 mpg. Airspeed is much more important than ground speed, for mpg.

8 mpg is good. Many report less. 10 mpg over the long term would need some slow driving with a smaller than usual frontal area, as you might find with a narrower, lower B+ design with better streamlining.

Just turned over 15,000 on my Thor Vegas 24.1. Averaging 10.32 miles per gallon. On the coastal roads in WA & OR this past week.

There are two disappointing things about owning RVs, one is MPG and the other is Solar Panel Performance BUT I still want to have an RV with solar panels. :) JMO.

2012 E-350 24' Class C with the V-10 5 speed Torque shift trans: After 32,000+ miles from coast to coast and then some over the last three years:

Cruising 60 = 9.5

Cruising 65 = 9.25

Both of those numbers reflect a little generator time and much of the mileage was in the mountains of the western half of the country. If you are not running with the Tow Haul engaged you should be.... that is what it is there for and it will not hurt your mileage.

I should also note that those numbers do not change when I am towing my motorcycle, bike and trailer are less than 1,000#. The E-450 chassis is 3,000# heavier than mine and has a lower rear end. IIRC the 450 is a 4:56 vs the 4:10 on my 350.

I have a shorter Chevy with the 5.7 and I keep track of every fill - gallons and odometer. Overall 12.1 mpg, but headwinds and heading to a higher elevation have dropped individual tanks to 10 mpg while tailwinds and heading to a lower elevation have increased the result to 17 mpg.

9MPG plus so far but I recently had my V10 Tuned at 5Star Tuning. I am expecting to be in the 10's soon enough

8 mpg is about average.
No two drivers drive alike. Some have heavy foot. Jack rabbit starts. Stop and go is hard on mpg.
