In the division where I work we had 3 E-350 econoline vans w/V-10's. They came off the line in sequential order, government bid kinda thing.
Anyway one of the three would burn 1 qt every 1000 miles and the other two would not burn a drop. Ford advised WNL. Conversely one of the ones that didn't have an oil leak problem wnet through brake pads like nobody's business. Dealers and engineers brought in to look at it had no clue as to why one of three identically outfitted trucks used brakes pade 3 times faster than the others. WE even eliminated the assigned driver equation by switching the van with another driver, same problem. It is just character I guess.
