What does it take to feed the generator back into the house? I do have a long heavy duty extension cord and I figured if the need ever arose I'd just use it to keep the refer in the house going and maybe a TV and some lights. I know if you feed a generator into the house you need a switch and all to make sure you are sending power back down the line in the wrong direction, but my generator is only 7500 watts. So can it be fed to the house as long as most stuff gets turned off in the house other than what the generator could handle?
The short answer is "Yes". - frankdampExplorerThe Genturi is a double-tube device, with exhaust going through the inner tube and ambient air is drawn through the annulus, so the outside stays cool. It is designed to operate vertically.
It could work on an angle, with the outlet a ways up the wall. Check with Genturi to get a feel for how low an angle it could go. - msmith1199Explorer IIWhat does it take to feed the generator back into the house? - polar76ExplorerYes, we have a 50 amp service in there,
the plan is for exercising the generator monthly should we not have used it for a long period of time, and also
might have my electrician set it up to feed the house when needed. (hadn't thought of that)
We seem to have a long outage of about a week or more every couple of years.
and we can always stay in it if the power is out,
either way , I need to be able to run it while in the garage.
Thanks for all the comments. - w4phjExplorer

I am not sure why the generator would be running indoors. You did run 50a power yes?
Otherwise I would be looking at a powered system such as:

Maybe because he wants to start it once a month to exercise is like you're supposed to and doesn't want to pull the motorhome out of the garage every time.
In my case I can run the MH gen in the garage while back feeding the garage and house electrically during power outages caused by hurricanes. Haven't had to do this since 2005, but I'm prepared. - msmith1199Explorer II

Once you tell them you want to run a generator inside your building you may find them putting all kinds of requirement on you such as powered ventilation fans and only going up and out the roof and things of that nature. What you are talking about doing is not that complicated and what ever you use for piping should be fire proof, but it isn't really going to get that hot. I'd go with something like what some have already suggested and then if you have a building inspection coming up just remove the piping before the inspection.

I used dryer hose thru the garage wall because it is flexible. I then attached a coffee can over the free end sliding the dryer hose all the way in and fastening with several layers of duct tape. I cut a hole in the other end of the can just SLIGHTLY larger then the gen exhaust pipe. The can/dryer hose assembly can slide over the exhaust about 6or8 inches. because the hose is flexible it can adjust for not parking in exactly the same place all the time
The only thing missing here is chicken wire! - okhmbldrExplorerWhy not use the double wall 3" vent pipe that is used for gas hot water tank venting? It comes in various lengths, just use the silver tape to seal the joints. You can go out the side wall, or up the wall to the roof for venting. It can be portable, (just take sections apart and store when not in use), or mounted permanetly. Also, auto supply houses sell a flexible metal tubing for venting exhaust, maybe a combination of the two would work for your application.
