Ok, Re: How powerful is the V10? Does it struggle towing a car?
What size cars are you towing behind it?
What kind of MPG should i expect with a car in tow?
Our 2000 37'8" coach weighing in at 21,230lbs loaded for travel is powered by the 310hp 425 lb ft torque. We tow a 2003 Suzki XL7 weighing 3,600lbs.
Normally it doesn't struggle towing our vehicle, of course when navigating 6 & 7% mountain grades speed drops to 45-50mph so I guess you call that struggling somewhat.
Our mpg average over the 14 years we've owned our coach has been around 7mpg.
2006 & later model v10 have more power, i.e., 362hp & 457 lb ft torque so navigating grades should be less of a struggle while towing a vehicle.
In all cases fuel mileage depends much on power to weight ratio, headwinds & individual driving habits.
We travel 5-6,000 miles per year and now with 89,000 miles on our coach we've been extremely satisfied with the performance and dependability of the v10.
Good luck with your choice of a coach.
