Warranty work- time in shop , add it to warranty peroid ?

I think you need to find a different dealer. Any dealer can handle your warranty repairs. You're not locked into the one you bought it from. That time is very unreasonable. If they're waiting on parts and it's drivable then take it and use it and let them call you when they're actually ready to make the repairs. Good luck!

Same question came up for us and TS had no issue extending the warranty. The worst thing that might happen is they say no.

If that happens just keep pushing it up the line

matt has it right. you may be able to get an extension if it is a repair needed to make the coach unusable. if you can use the coach without the generator, then its usable. if it has a broken door lock, its not usable. it depends on defining usable.
if it is a minor problem, typically they wont do anything. the key is whether it was usable or not. note i said minor problem. to coach owners, there is no minor problem, but legally there is. an open and frank discussion with the general manager will help a lot.
heres a tip- never tell the service adviser that theres no hurry. get a completion date when ever possible.

It is the manufacturer that has been holding things up... it's issues with the coach/body , the chassis has been fine.

I do not know about Florida. I do know that most states now have statutes that specify that the manufacture's warranty is for "user available time". So, if a purchased item is not available for use by the end user for some period of time because of warranty issues, then the period of the warranty is extended by that amount.

Call the state and you might just find a friend with a big stick.

CW extended our warranty 18 months to make up for "shop time".
All we needed to do was to send copies of repair orders and ask politely.
That warranty (expensive) was a wise purchase for us. I understand that some people have had different results. It definitely paid off in our case

Most chassis warranties are separate from the manufacturer's coach warranty. The chassis warranty usually starts when the coach is sold, NOT when the chassis is manufactured. Be sure to ask for an extension of the chassis warranty also.

It depends on WHY it was in the shop for that long. It also depends on if the RV was able to be used while in the shop and was it in the shop for special order parts and did THOSE parts cause the RV to not be usable? A LOT of owners will leave the unit at the shop to await special order parts instead of using the RV until the parts come in. SMART owners will use the RV while awaiting parts and then bring it back in. MOST OEM's will expedite any part that causes a RV to NOT be able to be used. There are very few items that can cause a RV to not be used. All you have to do is send the documentation to the OEM with the timeline and WHY it was at the shop for so long. usually they will extend the warranty for a few months if they agree. Doug
