Yep I am. If you are going to give someone $2000 you should know what you are getting. I guess SOME people just don't like taking responsibility for their actions anymore. He is ENTITLED to ONLY what he paid for, and nothing extra. If he did not know what he was paying for, that is his fault. This was ONLY a partial repaint, not a full paint. Huge difference.

Now that sounds more like a fly by night paint shop type answer than a response from a fellow RV'r...Nice cars on your website, good job

It is always nice to have other people dictate what a business owner should do with his labor force. It is so easy to spend other people's money. Where does it end? How about a wax job and rub down all of the old paint so everything looks like new? The point is it was a partial paint job and the exact details of what was to be done should have been discussed. How many of you guys would just hand over $2000 without knowing what you were getting and discussing all of the details with the shop? I am also going to go out on a limb and say that maybe, just maybe, the owner went with the shop that gave him the lowest quote.

So lets just say you want one of those beautiful cars of yours in a show. You find and add that says cars hand washed and hand waxed we will pick up and deliver. You think great so you call this guy he comes out picks up your car you sign a contract hand washed and waxed fully detailed. You wait a day he brings the car back full of mud and dirty as hell. You get irate and ask him why is my car all dirty. He says well i thought it would be fun to run it through a mud hole on the way back to your place. You say well I am not paying you. He says wait a minute I took the car I hand washed it I hand waxed it, where in my contract does it say I am going to bring it back to you clean???? Na Ron it's got to end someplace. The fact that this particular shop did not wash the MH only means the guy didn't care enough about his customer to give him a good job. It has nothing to do with the customer. Mater of fact what the OP said was "would you expect." I would you wouldn't. I once took my ford in for a very minor dent in the fender. The shop fixed the fender for $589.00 bucks. When they gave me my truck back it was as shinny as the day I bought it. Not just the fender but the whole truck. He didn't have to wash and wax it. He did it because of pride in his work... Something this country is getting pretty thin on these days. Say if you don't want to go the extra mile then don't but someone will I will always take my cars and trucks back to the shop that gives me the best service and appreciates my business and most importantly that is proud of their work.

Should it not be washed for a while?

Good question...Does the paint manufacturer (or how applied) maybe say not to wash or use cleaning chemicals for certain length of time?

Or maybe like my kids place in So Cal, He can't wash his own cars in his own driveway or he'll get "water wasting" ticket.

If your painter has to drive your RV to a wash rack, maybe your better off than some else driving your RV.

You were supposed to ask all of your questions about what you were getting BEFORE you agreed to the price of $2000. If you agreed to the job without a written contract detailing all work to be done, that is your fault.
The $2000 seems like a good price so if you have nothing in writing about washing the coach, just chalk this up as a learning experience.

They ought to. A washed car/RV runs better!!
We always washed cars after a tune up. The client really appreciates it.
