Watch that bridge!!!

according to the website, there are flashing lights that activate before the bridge if the approaching vehicle is to tall. "You are above the hight restriction".

I agree and didn't mean to be flippant when I joked about sponsorship. It needs more signage of some sort at the least and I would say the signage needs to be before the last opportunity to turn and avoid the underpass. I also bet it's not quite 11-8 from the trucks that skim the top. Now some folks, including at least some of the 5er's weren't even close and just weren't paying attention.

We have an underpass under the railroad here in town that has 8 foot clearance.
Drivers must be getting smarter, I don't recall seeing pictures of any incidents there for a couple years. IIRC, the last one was a truck camper. That railroad bridge peeled that camper off that truck just as neat as could be!
I won't even take my pickup under there, the antennas hit the beams!

Some of those trucks were way off but some shaved an inch. I bet they thought they were good to go. I don't want to be within 6" and better a foot. Good point on the repave.

It has been posted in the past that even when the sign gives max height one should be careful as the road may have been repaved or repaired adding an inch or two to the base. Out here in the West I have only come across two crossing I can remember with 12.0 clearance...I went around.

Didn't see any motorhomes in that.

Another fun drive is to be caught on a residential street with low-hanging tree branches, just waiting for any unsuspecting RVer to venture in.
