water leaking into fresh water hold tank.....

I put the check valve between the fresh water tank and the pump and it worked fine!!!!!Great pressure and no leaks!!!!Thanks to all who responded to my post question! Tom :B

The guy where I got the check valve said it needs to go between the pump and coach.....It is a bit easier to put it between the fresh water tank and the pump.....I'm going to try both to positions tomorrow.....we will see....Tom

If the pump still works properly on demand, the in-line check valve is the KISS-C solution (keep it simple, stupid-CHEAP)

You can replace pump for about $139 (on sale) or for $10 install a Shurflo in-line check valve

Have you inspected his pump or just offering a WAG?

Yeah....stopped by last night, tore pump down, inspected it. Check valve damaged. No parts readily available.........hence the in-line check valve :S

why not just plug off the pump out/house in water line and see what happen

Two different lines...........more hassles. Access.

How are they two different lines? one goes in the pump from the water tank and the other lines goes out the other end of the pump
pretty simple in my mind? my water pump is laying right there in the wet bay

You asked about "pump out/house in" (that would be pump discharge & city water in------two different lines)
Now you're talking about pump suction & pump discharge.

OP has a line that goes from water panel to fresh water tank (FILL) and a city water line (Goes to RV plumbing system......ties into pump discharge) controlled by a diverting valve PLUS the pump discharge line.
Installing a check valve in pump discharge is a way to see if pump internal check valve is leaking back into fresh water tank and if it is then the in-line check valve solves the problem. Simple easy check.

Disconnecting/plugging off other lines can also work.

Simply a suggestion for OP.
You're more than welcome to do it any which way you can come up with.


I never asked anything? u simply misunderstood my take on what line was what(differing discriptions by two people)
The line as I describe " pump out/house in" line is exactly that,goes in the pump from the water tank end and goes into house at other end of pump.I had suggested plugging off the house in line which is the pump discharge line which basically disconnects the pump and see what happens.
