I believe if they say 'Accuride' they are the polished wheels. If they say 'Accushield' they are the coated version. - AikenRacerExplorerHow can you tell if you have the coating or shield on the rims??
- kedanieExplorer IIMothers billet aluminum polish and some elbow grease.
Keith - smlrangerExplorerI have Accuride wheels, the polished version not the coated wheels. Mine also had spotting that could not be removed with the best polish I have ever used called Wicked Metal Polish. I had to use a special acid wash designed to prep aluminum for polishing. Spray that on, rinse it off, let wheel dry then polish. It will hurt your eyes to look at them :B.
I got the acid wash concentrate from Amazon. It is called Best Supreme Acid Mag and Wheel Cleaner. - abrasvExplorerI use a polish called Flitz on mine. Takes the water spots off with very little effort.
- tmmarExplorerAiken,
From what I have read the wheels are not coated - at least the ones they put on my coach. I think that Freightliner uses the same wheels on all of the chassis' that they build. I would try Never Dull. It comes in a blue tin and has a cotton batting infused with a polishing and cleaning compound. It is very, very slightly abrasive, mostly because of the cotton that is used. It can also be used on a number of other metals as well. I used this on my wheels and it did a nice job.
Tom - BuckBarkerExplorerMost likely, the water has etched the wheels. If they are coated then it would take a complete stripping of the wheel coating, polishing, and then deciding if you want to re-coat them or leave them bare, which will take constant care to keep them shiny.

How do you get the water spots off of the polished Accuride rims? I have used rim polish, cleaner wax, etc. I end up with shinny polished rims still with water spots. Any suggestions?
Try water with some vinegar in it.
