water tank

I had the same problem but their is an easy fix. For those of you like me that do not have tne luxury to be able to fill your fresh water tank direct with city water hookup here's what to do.Go to your fresh water pump and install a tee in the pump suction line and one to the outlet line. Now run a line between these two tee's with a shut offvalve. To fill the tank with city water hook up just open this newly install bypass valve.Make sure the pump is shut off.
To explain this. The pump suction line is hook up to the fresh water tank and the pump outlet line is hook up to city water so with this bypass open city water will fill the tank.I always open the tank lid in case the vent line would be plug. After the tank is full don't forget to shut off the valve

It sounds like your tank is already full. Do you know how to drain your fresh water tank? Open the drain valve to see if you are already carrying water. Most RV's will blow water back if they are filled too quickly, even with an air vent. They will also blow back if they are full. It does not sound like you have a blockage, because the water would not blow back at you if the line were blocked. It just would not take any water. The blow back affect is air from the tank, probably from being filled too fast.

If the vent line is blocked or full of water how do I access to fix the problem? It must be because it will not let any water in blows out immediately. We do not normally carry water on board so this is a new situation for us...Thanks

a blocked air vent from the tank would do this.

sounds like the vent line is full of water, some times they have a low spot and hold water not letting the air out of the tank. then you get blow back.

I have to fill mine really slow or it will blow out the fill hole around the hose. Are you sure it is not really full? Can you hear the water going in? Slow the faucet to a trickle. Les us know

A passing storm cell can cause a bit of that too. And Lakebum's advice is spot on.

What I did when that happened was just turn the water volume down on the supply hose.
