Went To The Greater RV Show Today!

In Novi, Mi. and we went with another rv.net couple. We checked out (3) brands of Class C's, Thor C's, Forest River C's, and Jayco C's. After checking them out very closely, all four (4) of us agreed that we liked the Jayco C the best, followed by the Forest River C, and then the Thor C. I wish there would have been more Class C's to check out, but the vast majority of the RVs there were Travel Trailers & 5th. Wheels. Also, there was a wide variety of motor homes based on the Mercedes Benz Cutaway chassis. However, I'm come to the conclusion that the best value for a motor home is your basic class C. I walked into the shower of the Jayco Greyhawk 29MV and was amazed how large the shower was! Anyway, it was nice checking out all the various C & B+ motor homes. My favorite Super C was made by Renegade! Bags
  • Well, although I would prefer buying a class C on the Chevy 4500 chassis, but in order to do so, I would have to step down to the Jayco Redhawk of about 28' in length. So the bottom line, if you want to buy a 30-33' class C, you have to buy one on the Ford E-450 14,500 GVWR chassis. Jayco makes modifications to the stock suspension called "J-Ride," which should greatly improve the ride of their class C's. They add rubber mounts between the frame and the floor, add Hellwig helper springs, add rear anti-sway bars, and swap out the stock shocks for a set of Bilstein shocks. Bags.
  • We have a class C and like it for the following reasons...

Easy to drive and park. The cab feels secure.
3 doors (2 in cab and 1 in coach).
Bed over cab - 1 of us sleeps "upstairs" and the other down.
Ford V10 is easy to get serviced.
