- vcbuttonExplorerPreparing for departure to warmer clime. Drained and cleaned waste tanks. Drained fresh water and blew out lines 'cause temps are getting into the low 20s around here. Filled propane. Pulled down one overhead vent screen and cleaned. (3 more to go.)This wasn't all one day. I've got 3 weeks to get ready.
- KristinUExplorerChanged the oil, replaced the O2 sensor, and re-caulked the rear window and storage hatch.
- tobydadExplorerDrained the hot water tank, pumped RV anti-freeze through all water lines, put screens over appliance openings to the outside, put fuel stabilizer in the gas tank and ran the generator under load for 30 minutes. Did the same for my neighbor's unit. Not looking forward to winter.
- tenbearExplorerChecked the oil in the generator then ran it (the genny) for about a half hour under load.
- Desert_CaptainExplorer IIITook ours to the local do it yourself Car/Truck wash. After the 1,000 mile, 8 day run to San Diego and back the 24' bug catcher was in serous need of a wash. After three sessions, rinse, soap and rinse again, at $1.50 a piece the rig was looking pretty good. A couple of Bounce dryer sheets took most of my new bug collection off. My bride had already cleaned the inside so we are ready for our next trip (coming up in about ten days). The price of gas is falling so I'll wait to refill the 55 gallon tank (I always arrive at home with one quarter of a tank), currently at $3.09 but hoping it continues to drop as it will take about 40 gallon to fill. :C
- pianotunaNomad IIIAdded a mudflap to keep the sewer connection from acquiring slush and ice.
- DaHoseExplorerDid some troubleshooting on the water heater and realized our 30 year old OEM unit will have to be replaced because I cannot find parts anywhere.
Jose - gearhead143ExplorerPut foam covers on the ends of all the awnings. Filled the water system with the pink stuff.Ready put on the new ADCO cover tomorrow night. Set for the winter.
- pianotunaNomad IIITurn on the "anti freeze" fan to keep the water system in good shape without using the propane furnace.
- HandbasketExplorerThis past week saw me in a mild panic. My almost eight year old Tiger had developed a _strong_ smell of mold in the interior! I checked everywhere, and couldn't find any damp spots. I'd had a leak long ago from one of the sliding windows in the cabover, but that wasn't it this time. With visions of dire rot damage dancing in my head, I searched high and low.
I finally tracked it to the 2-gallon bucket that's tied down on the floor of the wet bath, mostly used for away-from-home dumps, mainly to carry 'black tank starter water' in to put thru the toilet. I store a gallon jug of water and a mopping-up sponge in the bucket. It had taken on an inch or so of water last time I showered, and the wet sponge had been sitting partly in that for about 2 weeks with predictable and smelly results. Yes! An easy fix!
Jim, "I'd explain it to you, but I'm all out of puppets and crayons."
