The "full width" Hummer H1 is only 86.5" wide (Military version is 85"). Most Class A and many Class C motorhomes, as well as many 5'vers and TT's, are between 96" and 102" wide, as are most OTR truck/trailer combinations and OTR buses. The Hummer is also under the 10,000 lb minimum for clearance, identification, and other large vehicle lighting requirements.
Thanks, Did you know the only vehicles allowed on the freeway over 96 inches wide WITHOUT AN OVERSIZE PERMIT are RV's and Flat Bed Tow trucks? both of which are 102" wide. Not counting mirrors.
I have been driving trucks for 29 years now, around 1990 the company I was working for bought quite a few 48 foot trailers that are 102 inches wide, never needed a permit to use these on any road I traveled. Still see them on the road today.
