What good are clearance lights?
So I am resealing my roof and the front clearance lights look bad, cracked, screws rusted up and I am thinking about replacing them. Then I wonder, what good are they? Are they required? Why? Why not...

Thanks, Did you know the only vehicles allowed on the freeway over 96 inches wide WITHOUT AN OVERSIZE PERMIT are RV's and Flat Bed Tow trucks? both of which are 102" wide. Not counting mirrors.

Essentially EVERY truck and trailer you see on the Interstate will be 102", no permit needed. I own small trucking company. This has not been true since 70's or so!
