- jhilleyExplorerWe have a 30 year old quadriplegic son who we always celebrate Christmas with. We will leave northeastern North Dakota as soon after Christmas as we can. We always look at two or three routes and the weather on them to try to get in three good days of weather to get above freezing temperatures. We can go west across North Dakota and then across Wyoming, Utah and Nevada to our destination in Quartzsite or south down I-29 or I-35 to Oklahoma, New Mexico and Arizona. Or Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Arkansas, Texas, New Mexico and Arizona. We can pick I-10 or I-8 when we get south. So far have always had good weather all the way.
We had to put our 16 year old Rat Terrier to sleep this summer, so the trip will be a lot lonelier. - Canadian_RainbiExplorerWe were planning to leave on Tuesday but may have to delay a week or so due to some unforeseen issues including dog's health. However, when we can go it we will end up in Zihuatanejo Mexico for three months or so, just like the previous 12 years.

Johnny - GeocritterExplorerHeading to Tucson AZ in the middle of November for holidays with the family as well as some AZ quail hunting with my dog. I expect to hang out in Tucson until April.
Steve - sowegoExplorerOur travel this season will added up to a week in Ohio to visit family and a week in Colorado to visit more family. We've had a very hectic year so the rig has sat unused and we all know that is not good for anything that is meant to roll more often to maintain everything. It is what it is.
We simply don't want to snowbird...the SE is not our style, been there done that too many years, won't go back. We tried the SW but it wasn't to our liking either.
Honestly, in the winter we'd just as soon stay home, have fun in the snow and do summer trips to visit family. We are retired, don't need to be out daily to be off to a job so we can do our 1 hour out in the cold and work on woodworking projects indoors all day with stew simmering on the woodstove.

My stepdaughter will be here so don't worry about bad guys bothering her, worry about them gettting away from her though. She knows how to use a shotgun. - bertnspikeExplorerDrove almost 300 miles today, the first day of a twelve hundred mile trip to see the grandchildren. Made it to Brunswick, GA before the dog's antics (her first "moving-house" experience) finally wore me out. Gonna stay put for 2 nights just because I'm lazy and the price is right. Heading for Flanders, New Jersey.
