- Daddy_GExplorerThanks to everyone for the wonderful advice! We are headed there today and decided to stay at Campfire Lodging! We will report back to all of you how it is!!!!!!
- MrMuffinExplorerFollowing this thread we stayed at Bear Creek and it was very nice. You do hear the road noise big time - I closed the windows for sleeping. The Farmer's Market was quite interesting but we thought the Moose Cafe wasn't much. We waited 35 minutes for a table then were told we were too late for breakfast. The country fried steak and fried chicken were good but the sides were over cooked and lacked flavor.
- okwaterdogExplorerI see you have dogs.... check this out. Not sure how close it is to Biltmore, but it's in the neighborhood and great for the dogs...
I stay there when going from Edisto Beach,SC to Cinti. A little out of the way, but always enjoy it.

www.4pawskingdom.com - Coyote74ExplorerFalconbrother Appolo Flame maybe the restaurant your speaking of. Greek style and Italian taste sometimes.
- falconbrotherExplorer IIIf you like Greek food there is a little place right off of I-40 at the Biltmore exit. It's in a little strip shopping center on the South side of the interstate. I don't remember the name of the place but you go South away from the Biltmore community towards UNC Asheville and it's on the right about a mile from I-40. They have the best Greek salad dressing on planet earth. I have driven 3 hours just to get the grilled chicken Greek salad.
Biltmore is expensive for sure but, I've paid it and I've seen it and I didn't regret it. Biltmore has a vineyard and they make their own wines. They have a wine tasting that's part of the tour. I'm more of a beer guy but, Biltmore wines are very good.
While you're in the area take a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway from Asheville North up to say, Blowing Rock NC. It's a beautiful drive. One of the highlights of my year is taking a couple of days to ride the old electraglide to Tennessee. I exit I-40 on the way home and ride up the parkway to Boone and down 421 towards home.
Downtown Asheville is loaded with neat restaurants and shops. It's a good destination. - RayChezExplorerBear Creek RV park is only a few blocks away from the Biltmore.
- CG_DawsonExplorerThe fee for the Biltmore estate is outrageous!
- wa8yxmExplorer IIIIf you belong to the Moose.. they have a lodge there with parking and showers.

I hear the Biltmore house is nice. A little old, but well kept and clean. Not sure what they charge, but should not be much as I don't think very many folk stay there anymore.
Either a twisted sense of humor, or we forgot to take our meds. this morning? As for the question at hand, we stayed at Rutledge lake and it was just fine. Nice folks, fairly quiet location, and close to everything you need.
Has to be a joke. Every one knows the Biltmore House is super expensive, and they don't EVEN let you spend the night any where near it. But I bet there are a buch of people would give their right arm to stay there. Not me, I'm skerd of the ghosts. And the beds are really short - -Gramps-ExplorerBear Creek...second the back ins. Near the Biltmore and the Farmer's Market and the Moose Cafe, great place to eat.
