Hi Everyone!I'm currently living in Las Vegas, NV. as a Full-Timer in a late model Class A Motorhome with a nice amount of windows in the rear bedroom I've grown fun of,,, that's the only feature I'm fun of now. I'm now interested in a Holiday Rambler thats within my budget but the only thing keeping me from purchasing this Rambler is the fact it only has 1 side window in its rear bedroom. What are the reasons such a nice motorhome would not have a rear or more windows in its bedroom? I'm concerned when the weather hits 100 degress or more during our hot months here, that its going to become umbarebly hot in that area once I reenter it again?TIA!

Put in a rear window and lose the closet space. Mine has no rear window and I like it that way. No glass back there to magnify the sun and make it even hotter.

There are Gas Class A's that have rear windows. Diesel pushers, due to the design on rear engine and they use that space for a closet is why a Diesel does not have a rear window. Doug

Many of the MHs put large closets across the back. Plus a W/D back there. Most HR and Monaco MHs have two A/Cs with heat pumps. Warm in winter and cool in the 120 degree Vegas heat.

I have owned 3 class A motorhomes and none of them had a rear window in the bedroom.

So none of you miss feeling nice cool breezes streaming throughout your bedrooms in The Fall or Spring or views on every side?? Hopefully all of your reasons here will sway me in the right directions.Thanks again!

Sorry, I don't buy that the reason is that simple.

If it is, then why is it that almost ZERO coaches ever built on a rear engine chassis offer such, yet coaches built on various front engine chassis do offer such in many floorplans?

There's got to be some reason related to the engine being back there, that they just will not put a window back there. It may well be 'cause of all the nasty diesel fumes being belched out back there, that you don't have as much of with a front engine chassis.

Ours doesn't have a rear window. The ac is in the basement and the ducting goes up through the rear cap. We did have a rear window on our last class A. I didn't like it much. To much sun came in.

..Not been the case for us. That rear window hasn't got any more dirty than any of the other windows on the sides. If it did, like already said, thats what Windex is for. :)

Now, it may be that with diesel pushers and all the nasty diesel fumes and smog they belch out back there would cause a rear window to get dirty quicker. Could that be the reason why nobody offers a rear window on diesel pushers? If that was the case, wouldn't newer, cleaner diesel engines they're using now alleviate some of that?

AirTabs on my coach keeps the rear window much cleaner. I still get some stuff kicked up during a hard rain but never so much that I have to go out and clean the rear window any more often than I have to clean the side windows.

yep but the last time I drove a motorhome without a front window it got a little dicey. :)
My windshield gets dirty mostly from bugs and stuff. dirt doesn't seem to accumulate it like it does when the rear draws it in under vacuum.

Fixed rear window and side windows that open for cross ventilation are a must have for me. We spend a lot of time in the mountains with beautiful views, sounds , and temps.

Sometimes we wake up at the beach with a view of the ocean......

Few times I was sick for a week in bed, the rear window was a blessing.

After 20 years of RVing with a rear window, I'm stuck in my ways....:S:D

If you want a rear window, look for one with a rear window. Some have rear windows, some don't, many different reasons why (like something else using the space or simply a designer's choice) and many rear windows do not open.
