- BumpyroadExplorerI've got a two piece light and remote spotlight myself. haven't used it to spot deer yet.;)
bumpy - Bill_SatelliteExplorer IIWhile I don't use mine often, it has been very handy the few times that I have had to arrive late at a campground. It does flood or spot and turns fast or slow so I can get pretty much whatever view I need. I won't miss it if my new coach doesn't have one (as if I will ever be able to get another!) but I have used mine from time to time.

Too many drivers used them for off-road deer hunting.
Even if you'd like to use one of them entering the campground, you don't want to do it having neighbors for privacy reasons.
yep, they are excellent for "spotting" deer.

Yep, this makes sense:S You are driving a LARGE loud 10 ton motorhome thru the woods and you want to use the spotlight to "find" deer. Of course the Deer are so startled they just stand there while your buddies shoot thru an open window. Makes perfect sense to me. Doug
I guess I should have included a smiley face. :) I do believe that this would be illegal in all 57 states.
reminds me of a story I heard from a friend who's son was in the military in Alaska. he came upon a tour bus stopped beside the road with it's Japanese tourists all out taking a picture of a moose standing close by. as they were exercising their Nikons/Canons a PU truck of hunters came up and blasted the moose.

bumpy - conmotoExplorerI was told the light is to help check for tree limbs and overhead obstacles at night.

We have one on our '04 Itasca Horizon 36GD and, it's come in handy for various purposes every now and then. Ours even is equipped with a remote that you have the option for speedy scanning of an area or, slow scanning. I don't go crazy with it, just use it on occasion. Of course you don't blind or displease fellow campers with it, use some common sense.

as far as I have ever seen(quite a few) there always remote control

off road deer hunting in a 40+ diesel pusher LOL I don't think so
Now using it at night going into a dark rv camp site? priceless
glad I have one very usefull at nite getting into a dark RV space - Mr_Mark1ExplorerI can certainly see the purpose if driving at night in a dark campground. When we were first looking at motorhomes, we looked at a new 2007 Tiffin Allegro Bus which had the roof light. We then decided to go with the 2008 Dynasty (special order).
I think in the 'almost' 10 yrs. that we have been RVing, we have traveled at night maybe 3 times (in 100,000 miles). So, the light wouldn't be used much for us.
But, when you need it, I'm sure it's priceless.
