I was all ready to suggest the foil windshield cover for Class A's from CW, then I saw you wanted light. I have gone to Home Depot and gotten beige shade cloth and used grommets to make holes. I used this with bungees for the dog pen to create shade. But you could get some suction cup hooks to secure it to the glass and put this over your windshield. It won't block all the sun but it may help and allow some light in as well.
