We already have power window shades for the windshield but you really need something more to block the heat and light.
Visit your local favorite home improvement center and spend so time in the insulation isle. You should see rolls of 4' wide silver mylar insulation. About $35 later and you have a way to insulate your windshield and side windows from the sun. For our motorhome, we use the material at full width for the windshield (which happens to be 4' tall) and just slide it up under the power shade area. If you need to, you can also use Velcro to mount it.
Heat gain (and loss) drops really fast with that stuff in place.
