Very little has to be done generally.Backup Monitors are part of the general package you get here. It is cars with fenders that have to be changed or petrol tanks repositioned. Same thing happens to US cars imported here i.e. Chrysler 300, Jeep Cherokee.
I think the reason you do not get drop down beds is cost by a US/Canadian manufacturer and that people are happy with their current arrangements.
