WINNEBAGO QUALITY

I cant believe the rotocast manufacturer would build this ,and that Winnebago would install it.After having many different RVS I think the only way to get a quality one is to custom build one like the earth romer or something along those lines.They are all pretty much disposable rvs that are out there now.

    winnebago does its own rotocasting. they make all their tanks. as well as most other plastic parts. they are one of the few who is not an assembler of parts. they make a lot of their components, all front and rear caps, cabinets, walls, roofs, and steel parts. take a tour of their factory. its very close to an automotive assembly line.
    they have an amazing set up. they build a very good coach,
    in my opinion.

    Yes I pulled the old tank and tried to plastic weld it , but the material was to thin . I think the weak point in them is the bevel for the cheater vent must be a PITA to mold them.On a plus side new tank fittings were spot on.

    Depending on circumstances if the whole tank is not visible, I would be inclined to order new tank before proceeding. Whole tank could be defective.

    If I had a lot of time and could pull and inspect tank, then might go for repair?

    Yeah pretty hard to defend this, assuming it was visible prior to the final failure.

    However, I'm kind of surprised this could not have been patched without replacement.

    I installed living quarters in my cargo trailer a few years back. When I purchased the holding tanks they asked for the dimensions of where I would like my fittings. The worker

    cut a hole with a hole saw, inserted the fitting then used a device/tool that spun the fitting until it melted and molded into the tank. Maybe in your case they spun it too much and

    failed to report their mistake.
