Winnebago Sunstar 31be driving impressions

Hi Everyone. Looks like we will be pulling the trigger on a 2019 Winnebago Sunstar 31be. Does anyone have any experience with the highway handling on this coach? I’m coming from a shorter class C. I’m well aware the handling will not be the same, I guess I’m getting concerned with some of these horror stories on the handling on some of these 30ish foot class a gassers. Ive taken it for a test drive, but keep in mind that’s limited and where I’m buying is very flat simple terrain. Has anyone owned one of these or equivalent models that can comment on the handling at highway speeds?
  • My 2012 was all over the road. The previous owner did every add on possible to an F53 chassis. I found the toe was 5/8” toed out. Reset it to 3/16” toed in and it handles very good for what it is, essentially a 30 year old bread truck chassis!!!
  • Not specific to your model but on the F53 there are lots of things that can affect handling that are free or nearly free to straighten out. MH's are never set up properly at the dealership. First thing would be to load it for travel (people, fuel, water, food etc) and weigh it. Then set the tires PSI accordingly. Incorrect PSI is one of the number one reasons for bad handling. After driving it you could determine if you want to do the cheap handling fix. Lots of posts on here about it, and again, that's free and will make a remarkable difference in handling, wander and truck push.
