Winnebago Vista 26HE $69,995 Class C Beater
DW and I stopped at a dealer to look at a used Navion (Sprinter class C) that caught our eye. After spending a lot of time with that unit, the salesman succeeded in convincing us to look at and drive a new Vista 26HE.
We were very impressed. I'm not sure many A owners would see it as anything special. But for the money, compared to Class C's, it's a lot of bang for the buck. Our biggest hang-ups would be 1) MPG, and 2) lack of a good lounging situation for evening television. On the plus side, you're getting levelers, rear camera, a walk around queen, nice sized kitchen and bath, huge cockpit, and huge exterior storage.
I had never driven any Class A before, so my opinion is suspect, but to me it handled, rode, and drove just fine. It was pretty breezy out and we got it up to speed in all four compass directions, with some basic road imperfections, and I was quite satisfied. It's probably better driving than a comparable Ford class C, although that's really just a guess on my part. Especially being empty, who knows.
