Would like to haul my ATV if possible

Hello All,
Me and the wife are going on vacation here very quickly up to Yellowstone and would like to bring my Honda Rubicon with us, it weighs 600 pounds dry, maybe 650 ready to ride, anyhow, anyone haul one of these behind their motorhomes without a trailer?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Rick

  • Hello Triple,

That is exactly what I was looking for

    Thank You so much,

  • Hello All,
I was thinking of something to go into the receiver hitch that would hold my Quad (ATV)

  • A Honda Rubicon is not a car, it's a quad and should be hauled on a trailer.
  • Hello Jim,
I would not be riding it in Yellowstone, we live in California and I would like to stop in Utah, Wyoming and also Idaho to get some riding in

    Thanks,
    Rick
  • Two different questions. How to get it there and why do you want to? I certainly wouldn't haul it 4 down. Considering its light weight, and stiff suspension, I can imagine it bouncing high enough to go thru your back window. I'd put it on a trailer. I trailer mine when hauling it about 4 miles.
As to riding it in the park, I watched a guy on a motorcycle sit in the middle of the road while a herd of bison walked around him. He looked nervous. Also, other than wheel chairs, vehicles are not allowed off the pavement, so there's not much point.
At the very least, I'd give them a call before I went.
  • Hello All Again,
I guess I should have been clearer on this, is is an ATV with Off-road tires, called a Honda Rubicon. I know for sure a tow dolly would not work, all the tires would have to be off the ground.

    Thanks in advance,
    Rick

A call to Honda may be warranted. I vote for a small trailer. I would be very surprised if that can be towed 4 down, and even more surprised if anyone made a baseplate for it.
  • I take it it is a standard transmission 2 wheel drive? I'd go with a tow dolly. I'd be really nervous about pulling it 4 down. Is a trailer completely out of the question? I see trailers made for hauling riding mowers, etc at pawn shops for less than 500.00.
