Y'all missed my point...I was not suggesting "getting involved" with IFTA to track mileage and disburse taxes. My point was every state's code I found was almost word for word the exact same language as the IFTA language on covered vehicles. My thought is the states used the language from the IFTA agreement to form their code on use fuel taxes. Most of the code I read specifically exempts RVs owned and used for non-business purposes. The AZ code does not include that exemption. If you read the info on the IFTA link I provided, it says the exemptions listed are based on info provided by each state. The exemptions listed are not IFTA's...they are what each state is reporting their law is. And, AZ is listed as NOT exempting RVs. This does not mean RVs have to register through IFTA. It means that AZ requires RVs meeting the covered vehicle definition to pay the state tax.
