- bgumExplorerVery handy and you can believe the advertising. Bought online and got two plus covered pan and two skillets. Deal from Bed Bath and yonder only gives you one with no pans. On line costs a little more but you get less.
- ford31ExplorerI have the Nu-Wave oven and love it, have had it several years now, just used it last night to do a ham, much faster and easier than using my oven..
- YC_1NomadWe have two of them and have not seen the gas stove top in 10 months. We keep it covered. The cookers can be moved anywhere convenient and do not heat up the kitchen. The temperature control is excellent and instant off when you hit the pause button. As suggested, just use a magnet to find pans that will work.
The only negative is the noisy fans on them. They could use something quieter but that is the only negative. They draw low current as well. - GailSExplorerThis is an induction burner not the regular electric hot plate you mentioned. The burner itself does not get hot, just the pan and food you are cooking. Great safety feature and it cuts down the heat buildup in the small kitchen area we have in our B. Research induction cooking to see how they work.
They do require induction ready cookware. Cast iron and any pan that a magnet sticks to will work great. There are many pots and pans out there now that are induction ready. Take a magnet when shopping should you decide on induction.
After owning one (different brand)for a couple years, I decided to purchase the NuWave for the RV and prefer it to the other one. A less expensive, regular hot plate will work. You have to decide if just as well for your purpose.
I purchased mine at BB&B and used a 20% off coupon. BB&B has a no limit return policy. - Go_DogsExplorerI love mine. Great with cast iron. Got mine at Bed, Bath & Beyond with a 20% off coupon.
- SWMOExplorerWe got 2 and one of them, the one we keep at the house, is used everyday. The cookware isn't easy to come by, but we bought one small pot and already had one large one. We only use cast iron skillets and the unit loves CI!
- DutchmenSportExplorerSeems rather steep, $99.99 for one burner plus shipping charges.
- FLman2ExplorerI ordered one, and found out that the so called free cook ware isn't all that free. The shipping charge that you have to pay is outlandish, it's for the cooking top, then if you want the "free cookware" you have to pay another shipping charge.
The one I ordered is on the way back to them. You can buy the same unit at Walmart for the same price and no shipping charge. Buyer Beware sure applies to this company! - 2-MTnestersExplorerDW loves hers! Seems to boil water relatively quickly and does very well with other foods. You must use skillets or pans that are made of magnetic type steel and not aluminum, copper or stainless for the induction burner to work. I like the fact that you can remove the pot from the burner and then place your hand on the surface and not get burned. When we got ours they were running a special, 2 for the price of one and included several pans. We use these in our 5th wheel instead of the stove top. Seem to be very energy efficient as well. We normally have both fired up and have never had electrical issues. A hot plate is going to draw much more amps.
