- garmpExplorer IIOK, Searching, talk to me. Just got a pellet smoker, RecTec, and want to do a roast. Any secrets you'd like to share.
This is all new to me and don't really want to make a pricey cut of beef a disaster. I'll take any and all advice.
thanks - Searching_UtExplorerWe've done a prime Rib for the holidays every year for the last 10 years or so. Last few years I've done them on the Pellet smoker, low heat, rest, then reverse sear in order to keep from getting that overcooked layer on the outside of the roast.
- Big_KatunaExplorer IIHere is an article that explains the cuts a little better. Prime is a bit of a misnomer since the USDA started grading beef Prime, Choice and Select.

- craftyfoxExplorerI DID get an excellent prim rib at Wal-mart last year. Was in our local Wal-mart yesterday and they have prim rib available for 6.97 a pound..sizes were from 3 bone on up. Last year was my first time to cook a prime rib and I was amazed at how easy it was...kinda had 2nd thoughts prior to starting a $50 piece of meat but it came out perfect.
