beer bread recipes??

I made beer bread last week with a bottle of beer I didn't care for.
used a basic recipe- 3c self rise flour, 1/2 c sugar, 12oz beer and 2tbsp butter. Daughter thought I'd invented the I-pod or something.
Now need more recipies, have to top the basic, luckly the bar is low.
Help!

Big biscuit sounds really good and easy. Could I add some canned Jalp? How many do you think would work? I love the heat in bread, or anything.

Canned should work just as long as they are not pickled. 1/4 cup would get it "warm."

  • 1 big biscuit-beer bread

    Ingredients:
    3 cups flour (sifted)
3 teaspoons baking powder (omit if using Self-Rising Flour)
1 teaspoon salt (omit if using Self-Rising Flour)
    1/4 cup sugar
    1 (12 ounce) can beer
    1/4 cup melted butter
    Add options:
    1 jalapeno, sliced
    1/2 cup grated cheese
    1 tablespoon ground coffee

    Directions:
    1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
    2. Mix dry ingredients and beer.
    3. Pour into a greased loaf pan, 8x8 pan or oven proof frying pan.
    4. Pour melted butter over mixture.
    5. Bake 1 hour, remove from pan and cool for at least 15 minutes. Cut as desired.
  • My recipe is for a bread machine and I've never tasted better!

    1 cup beer
    1/3 cup water
    2 T olive oil
    3 cups bread flour
    3 T sugar
    1 1/2 teaspoon salt
    2 1/2 teaspoons yeast

Put wet ingredients in bottom of pan. Cover liquid entirely with dry ingredients and use the "White Bread" setting on your machine. Do not use the 'quick' cycle as the bread needs the longer knead and rise times provided by the regular setting.

I also have the same recipe you do for hand mixed beer bread but I don't care for the texture of the finished product.
