We love cowboy made coffee. Throw 3 - 4 scoops in the water, put it over the camp fire, when it boils ( use the side of the fire pit as you do not want a vigorous boil). take it off the fire for a few min and let the grounds settle then enjoy!!
I agree! I bought this giant blue speckled enameled coffee pot from Cabelas, don't even know how much it holds, half gallon anyway. I bring right to a boil and take it off and dump one slightly rounded cup of good old Folgers and let it sit for like 10 minutes. Then we start pouring. It's great for camping trips when there is several in the camp. It never seems to run out of coffee.
We use Sams Club Hazelnut.
Drip I get pea berry Kona medium roast ordered from a Hawaii plantation. Very expensive very high in caffeine. Not for fire pit coffee.- usmohls2Explorer

in Texas you might want to try the Community Coffee.
We like it. There are several differnt roasts.
And even have the single servings.
Also in south Louisiana, this is the only coffee served. It's Community or nothing most of the time.
As much as I love Community, you may find the variety with Chicory is "an acquired taste". - CrodadExplorer

They have/make my favorite coffee. It is bold and flavorful without bitterness. Otherwise our normal coffee is Folgers classic or French roast.
- romoreExplorer IIC'mon guys, let's show a little finesse here. Boil 3 scoops and a horseshoe, when the horseshoe floats it's ready to drink. My wife being a city girl won't have it that way so I have to tone it down a little.
