CROCK POT ROAST TO DIE FOR:
1 (4 -5 lb) beef roast , any kind (your favorite)
1 (1 1/4 ounce) package brown gravy mix , dry
1 (1 1/4 ounce) package dried Italian salad dressing mix
1 (1 1/4 ounce) package ranch dressing mix, dry
1/2 cup water
Directions:
1. Place beef roast in crock pot.
2. Mix the dried mixes together in a bowl and sprinkle over the roast.
3. Pour the water around the roast.
4. Cook on low for 7-9 hours. - Sportsman2505qsExplorerI just put the roast in the Crock pot and add a can of dice tomatoes usually the ones that have garlic and onions. If you use the plain just add any spices you like.

sliced onion
when all that is close to done, add some sliced yellow squash.
serve with rice or corn or beans
That sounds great. Will have to try it soon. - Us_out_WestExplorerThanks for all the suggestions and look forward to the 'smells'.
- MerrykaliaExplorerI will also recommend the "Mississippi Roast". It was great.
Here is the link to the recipe that was posted on here a year or so ago.Mississippi Roast - robsouthExplorer IISeason roast, brown all sides in a cast iron skillet. Put in some potatoes, carrots, and celery. Put in some beef broth and or water and let cook for 8 hours adding a little more broth or water along the way. You can also add a packet of onion soup mix. Oh yeah, put the crock pot back in the cabinet as you won't need or or want it.
- Go_DogsExplorerBrown it on all sides.
Sprinkle with a package of onion soup mix.
Spread with one can of whole berry cranberry sauce.
Set it on low for 6-8 hours depending on size of roast, and how hot your crock pot runs.
The soup mix and cranberry sauce makes a nice savory gravy, serve over noodles, potatoes, etc. - TexasShadowExplorer III like to do a "mexican" pot roast.
