  • we make a pouch containing a hamburger patty, sliced potatoes, carrots, onions and whole kernel corn then some salt and pepper then fold it up. wrap it in wet newspaper then another layer of foil and cook for 45 min-1h over coals. Its very much a camping tradition in my family. referred to affectionately as............. campfire dinner.

Smoked Sausage and Kraut are probably simpler to fix than Hamburger packets. I've done them at lots of hunting camps.

It's all good. Love the kraut and sausage; hamburger with chunks of onion, peppers, and tomatoes; you name it.

  • Kids loveeeeeee foil/hobo pack meals on my end since they have less dishes to wash(I've checked my contract. Dishwashing isn't part of my job);). Great collection of recipes and even some desserts.

Hmmm...I bet that sour cream berry pie recipe could be made in foil packets:).
  • We used to do this with the Boy Scouts all the time. Tin foil cooking. Great meals!
