Wife has several mechanical openers but they aren't as reliable as the one from 20 years ago and made in America.
She has an attractive black and chrome can opener that cuts the rim not the top, made by Hamilton Beach. We've seen others that may be as good or better but the price was right, as she was tired, of fooling, with the ancient Black and Decker under counter. Hasn't dropped a can yet and the blade doesn't get dirty on the contents of the can.
