Last night I was mortally wounded by one of my not-so-enlighted buddies who made a foul and deliberate attack on the humble Spam! Being a total "rib-freak" I decided to treat that poorly spoke of can of porkry goodness with the same respect and reverence I do a rack of back ribs,after slicing lengthwise in 1/2" slabs I liberably applied my secret "rib-rub",covered with cling wrap for an hour and grilled to perfection,slathered on some of my "secret MPI_bubba'Q sause and went to town. Grilled Spam n' BBQ sauce,yet another Spam hit!!! And as for my buddy MPI_Owl,,he goes hungry!!!Red Green: If life gives you lemons, throw 'em into a quart of vodka.

You really need to swing by Austin Minnesota and visit the SPAM MuseumLINKLots of great info....history and every type of SPAM is available in Gift Shop. There is even a Pineapple SPAM...great on pizza Yummmmmmm!PLUS......restaurants in town have SPAM Items on the menus

We eat spam now and then. Cold or grilled. It's no worse than a brat or polish sausage.

Spam Reubens;Grill your bread (rye or whatever), melt cheese and add saurkraut and thousand island dressing. Weird, but good.

Google "SPAM Cookbook". There are several. I keep a four pack in the pantry for those times when there's no fresh meat in the fridge, and its too cold, hot, rainy, snowy, late or early to go out.SPAM is very popular among Hawaiian natives. Fresh meat in the islands is very expensive.

I am thinking about adding Spams to my farm. I hear they are nasty little critter but their coats are worth a fortune. :)

I was a spam hater for ever and my husband pointed out that maybe we should try it again as it had been years. Tried it, and I can tell ya, I am still a spam hater. Nasty stuff

My 17 yo granddaughter would live on Spam. She likes to slice it (has a special Spam slicer) and fry it up and eat it with eggs for breakfast.

For lunch or a quick dinner, she fries it up and mixes it with rice and rolls it in nori (seaweed) for Spam musubi.

If she's feeling lazy, she'll chop the Spam up and mix it with rice, scrambled eggs, and chopped up nori.

Low sodium Spam sliced fairly thin and fried up crisp is excellent. I like to add a bit of Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce right before they are done. Makes a great sandwich with a thin slice of onion and some sliced pickles.

I'm right there with you. It's rare that we don';t have a can of spam in the cupboard, in fact generally 2 for safety. I noticed the last time I bought some that they are expanding the flavors rapidly.
Just to add to your recipe. I smoke meat also and an uncut slab of Spam smokes up real nice. Set the smoker high, no need to worry about cooking, and pour the smoke to it.

We slice up SPAM and TOFU, fry it in a pan and serve it over white rice.
That is just one of the ways we use SPAM.
Tried one of the Spam meals and did not like it.
