List of Grills...

...that folks have easily modified to run off a low pressure LP supply.

I'll start. The Weber Q series. There's a thread around here somewhere detailing the removal of the Weber regulator and substituting some fitting so that it runs off a post-regulator supply hose from your RV. Any other's?

Do you have a part # for this adapter kit?
  • The Olympian model #5500 and the hybrid gas/electric model both run unmodified off of your low pressure RV port.
  • Nexgrill from Costco for less than $100. 10' hose attaches to a gas point I imported from Bullfinch in the UK.

Camco sells an adapter kit. However, Some BBQs are getting cheaper. You can remove the regulator but hose and regulatour are crimped. Basically junk. On a fire pit I had to get a new hose made up with fittings on both ends.Unfortunately most propane dealers don't carry the Camco fitting. I bought the fitting and the propane dealer made up the rest of the hose. My biggest problem with selecting a BBQ grill was finding one that could BBQ more than a hamburg or tiny steak. I like to BBQ a whole chicken cut in half. I need a new grill but haven't found one yet. My old one was generic so not sure of the brand.

I like using the 1lb canisters with my COLEMAN ROADTRIP grille. I get three days or so using them..

Using the propane connector would make me have to get too close to the trailer wall anyway...

I have to have the 1LB canisters around for my back-up heat anyway using the Mr Buddy heater...

I use my propane connector. I'm 23' away. Any furher I'd have to rent the next RV sight. :B Take the Camco connector to a propane dealer and they will make any length hose you want. 50', 100'? Most propane dealers don't have the Camco type connector that fits RVs. you would be safer at a couple of feet than carrying a propane cylinder inside an RV while traveling. TTs and 5ers have advantage in that area. You can carry them in the back of the PU.
