I don't see any mystery in whether or not it will work as a slow cooker alternative. It is a stove top for all practical purposes.The main advantage of a slow cooker is in using heat that is low enough to avoid burning the food. It does this using a heat holding insert that allows a lower input of heat. As long as the cooking vessel holds a lot of heat and allows the NuWave to be set very low then the results should be similar. I'm sure a CI Dutch oven would come close to providing the ideal conditions for long slow cooking.
So I'm not say it isn't suited, just closer to a long low simmer on a stove top then a crockpot. We use ours quite often, virtually every day because of the seed in heating cast iron.
