Not throwing stones here (I don't mind at all that you don't use it), but I really don't understand your thinking in that first sentence. Once properly seasoned, cast iron for me is easier than just about anything else, except for maybe a brand new teflon skillet. Most of the time, I just wipe mine out; sometimes maybe a stiff brush and hot water and quick wipe with a paper towel drizzled with cooking oil.
