Last summer we picked wild blueberries in northern Ontario. We picked over 25quarts. We froze them in the TT. There is nothing better than wild blueberries. Simple uses have been
.....In muffins exchange choc chips for blueberries
.....Add blueberries to waffles or pancakes
.....Smoothies
.....blueberries on a fruit and cheese pizza...mmmm!
.....Throw a handful or two ito a basic cake recipes. I toss them with a bit of flour first so they don't all go to the bottom of cake.
.....mix in yogurt
.....of course blueberry pie. I just boil up a few and add some thickening then the rest of berries. Into unbaked pie shell.
.....Pillsbury turnovers, put in a few blueberries before you shape them.
There are hundreds of ways to eat them. My favourite is right by the handful, fresh!
