Travel Lunches Non-Heat Non-Fridge?

I'm a single senior. I expect to head out for Big Bend NP next week and will be staying in the Chisos Mountain campground (no hookups but I have a 12v fridge). However, I will be taking day trips around the park on my scooter. What suggestions do you have for lunches that don't need to be cooked and need no refrigeration? I'll be taking snack bars to ward off low sugar mid-morning and mid-afternoon. One fallback is the pre-technical age option, bread and cheese. What else?
  • Hummus in a squeeze tube with pita bread or crackers is one of our favorites. Those tiny grape tomatoes go well with this combination.
  • Vienna Sausages, Potted Meat, Beanie Weenies, saltine crackers....

X2. Or if you want a hot meal, look at Heater MealsThe link I provided only show sales by the case but I'm sure you can find them individually in sporting goods stores. I've actually had a few and they're not bad.
  • check out the prepackaged tuna fish. it has tuna and crackers and does not need to be refrigerated. we always take PB&J sandwiches. I heard the Big Mac stays the same for years in a desk drawer- probably just a rumor.....I don't eat fast food. LOL
  • When I go out hiking, I usually do the crackers and cheese thing. It's easy.

Most sandwiches will be fine - roast beef, ham, turkey, bologna, etc. Fruit is always good. If the weather is a bit chilly, preheat soup and use a thermos to carry it.
  • Peanut Butter. Any way you like it. Sandwich. Crackers.
  • When I go fishing along the banks of streams I carry:
    Ritz crackers
    Salami
    Cheese
    Canned sardines......oysters

In grocery stores they even have those pre-packaged 'lunchables'
