Well, we've been making pizza's on the built in and the Weber grills for years.
The ovens that I'm interested in heat up in 30-45 minutes, I can handle that. That's just time to get a beer and a shot of Crown Royal XO and get back to watch it heat up. The Weber or the grill can't heat up like it takes to cook a pizza properly, IMHO anyway.
If this is not something you think is worth it, I understand, but for me, I think it is. I've tried the firepit, we have one in the back yard also, and use it almost every weekend during the cold weather. It won't produce anything near a pizza oven type pizza. I've tried.
There is really nothing like a pizza oven, and to cook a decent sized pie in 90 seconds. Nothing tastes like it either. If you've have a good wood fired pizza, you know what I'm talking about.
I'm not knocking anybody or their opinions, I just know what I've eaten in the past, and want to reproduce it at my home.
I'm asking if you have an oven, how much trouble is it, how much maintenance, what would you do different? That's the kinds of things that I'm asking now.
