- DutchmenSportExplorerHa! IF I PAY EXTRA FOR MY DOG, THEN HE CAN POOP ANYWHERE HE WANTS AND MANAGEMENT CAN PICK IT UP! OR YOU CAN PICK IT UP IF BOTHERS YOU THAT MUCH! I LEAVE IT RIGHT THERE AND DEFY ANYONE TO CHALLENGE ME! ESPECIALLY YOU! WHY SHOULD I PICK IT UP. I PAID FOR THE PRIVILEGE OF LETTING MY DOG "GO" ANYWHERE! SAME WITH MY KIDS RUNNING THROUGH YOUR CAMPSITE ... JUST DEAL WITH IT! IT'S ALL ABOUT ME!
Well,.... that's the way I feel about it anyway. ;)
Can't say I "like" it, but I do pay (and always pickup after my dog ... always, and my kids are all grown now... so if they run through your campsite now ... you have my permission to yell at them!) :B - Mr__CamperExplorerSince we always make reservations we check that there are no pet fees. If there are fees we thank them, hang up, and mark them off our list. Their rules but my money.

Well, don't plan on staying at any state parks in PA. We must pay extra for our dog in every sp in PA that allow dogs. A lot of PA's state parks don't allow dogs at all. :(
Paying the extra fee doesn't bother us as much as campers without pets occupying some of the pet sites which are limited within the parks that do allow dogs. :M
Oh how I wish Florida would add a big pet charge to state parks. Seems like a great idea to me. - IDmanExplorerOur Cavalier King Charles is old. Can I get the Senior Discount?
- 2oldmanExplorer IINo, it doesn't bother me.
- SteeljagExplorerI have no issues with the animal charge. Totally up to the individual, and that is why you have wheels to move on!
- colliehaulerExplorer IIITheir campground their rules.

Agree 100%. I have never been to an RV park or similar establishment where there was ever any dog poo left on the ground. Every RVer cleans up after their pets and they always have their own poo bags. Those same dogs are also always friendly, never bark, always stay in their own sites, so there is really no need for a leash. All pet rules and policies are actually ridiculous on face value. They are just another way the mean and greedy park owner gets into your business and wallet.
I always appreciate your perspective (and humor!) on campground management that comes from actual knowledge and having "been there." There are always many posters that shoot from the hip with very little knowledge or understanding of what managing a campground (public or private) really involves. (Thumbs up!) - Johno02ExplorerIt really bothers me how many folks do not clean up after their dogs. If their dog poops at our campsite as they walk them around the campground, we will offer them a bag. Usually they will not walk them in our area again. We have travelled with dogs for over 14 years now, and have always cleaned up after ours.
- WalabyExplorer IIIm a pet owner, and if a RV Park charges extra for pets, it doesn't bother me. I can decide for myself if the upcharge is worth it or if I should shope elsewhere.
I actually have less of an issue with this, than a park that would charge me more if I run my A/C, or heater.
Thankfully i've not run into either, but I mostly stay at State parks.
EDIT: Okay, guess I better not stay at state parks in PA and VA. GA and FLA I've not ran into that problem.
