Another Star in the Heavens
15 years ago, tomorrow we rescued 9 cocker spaniels from a puppy mill. One of them ended up staying with us. She lived well and liked to travel. She was a momma's girl and was my constant shadow. Our beautiful, sweet Sage crossed over the Bridge Monday evening.
She liked evening walks. When she was too weak to walk that far, I got out a stroller a friend had given me and she rode along while the boys walked. She thought she was hot stuff sitting in that stroller the last two weeks.
She was 15 and 2 months. We had a mast cell tumor taken off of her in early July. She went through that like a trooper and the surgery site healed well. It appeared that the cancer took off in other parts of her body. She got really sick and had no quality of life left. To keep her any longer would have only been for our benefit. It was in her best interest to let her go, as difficult as it was.
