KC will do fine and I'm sure has adjusted to whatever comes her way.
Our Pom Zachery was seriously sight challenged for the last two years of his life, I discussed this with two vets. I decided not to put him through it.
The main reason I didn't is he was doing very well and I didn't want to upset the apple cart, so to speak.
He still went on his long walks and went to the dog beach and he enjoyed each and everyday of his life.
At this age, not doing anything is sometimes the best choice.

I agree with Sher on this. Poquita (who was 15.5 yrs when we finally let her go, had lost her hearing and sight but by golly her nose still worked and she knew darned well when spaghetti or pizza was in the house. She also was comforted by Bud's clothes he had worn so I'd put them near her bed when she was restless. The last few months she'd get in a corner and not be able to find her way out. It's a downhill run at that point and we knew we couldn't reverse anything. We just focused on the senses she still had, touch and smell, and made the most of those. Didn't let her go until her spinal arthritis became intolerable for her. It's just a "fast forward" version of what we all go through. Personally, we have medical power of attorney so "heroic measures" will not be taken when we're in a similar state. I hope to hold with that plan for our other pets, too, but oh, we still miss our Poquita.
