Which I am sure is pretty rare these days... I haven't been out the forty in years, but even before the big crash, coverage was spotty.
For those who think this has something to do with CA as "the granola state," the reason is that, due to the fact that CA is in fact a state with a HUGE amount of agriculture, and that, in addition, we have large areas where the winter climate is too mild to kill off pests that would be kept in check in other places, we take extra steps to prevent infestations such as the legendary fruit fly disaster of the last century.
