I am pulling this back up from the dead. I had a weimaraner and our next dog will be an irish setter. My weim was thickheaded and he lacked focus. With that said, i doubt I will ever own a dog i could love more than him. He spent 9 months nuzzling my wifes pregnant stomach and let us know when she was going in to labor. My daughters learned to walk by holding his ears. My girls would dress him up in tiaras and tutus every day and have tea parties with him. He stayed at their sides through tears and colds. The list goes on and on and on.

IQs don't make great pets. Its the bond you establish with them.
